Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone: Printable Worksheet It is a worksheet for those who like to read fiction books in English. Reading activities for the first two chapters of the book which help to enrich and widen students' vocabulary.

It’s well known that you can’t succeed in learning any language without reading. But to induce children to reading the teachers have to arouse their interest. Nowadays fiction is very popular among young readers. And Harry Potter has been an internationally renowned character. I would like to offer you some exercises for chapter I and chapter II of “Harry Potter and the sorcerer’s stone”. The exercises you will find bellow help students to cope with language difficulties and understand the text easily. The aim of the exercises is to enrich the vocabulary and to develop speaking skills. As a pre-reading task a teacher can ask students to prepare reports about the author of the book, as it is important to know some facts about the person who created this work.

Assignment to Chapter I

Женщина с суровым видом улыбнулась Гарри и дала войти.

У Дамблдора была такая длинная седая борода, что он мог заткнуть её за пояс.

Готов поспорить, что мысли о шраме не дают ему взять себя в руки и сосредоточиться на занятиях.

Дамблдор боялся, что слухи о его популярности могли вскружить мальчику голову.
